Alphabet Soup of Local Organizations and Agencies

There's a lot

There are a lot of arts organizations and more in the area that are often referred to using their acronyms. It can be confusing sorting out who is who and what each does. Below is a list of the ones that get talked about the most around here, it is by no means a comprehensive list.

AVA - Alliance for the Visual Arts and TVAST Tri-Valley Art Studio Tour

Non-profit arts organization.

DAC - Dublin Arts Collective

Help us continue our mission of supporting local artists by making a donation or becoming a member. Your support makes a difference in the arts community.

LCAC - Livermore Cultural Arts Council

501c(3) non-profit organization made up of local visual and performing arts organizations, many of whom are non-profits themselves.

LAA - Livermore Art Association

LVA - Livermore Valley Arts

(This is not us.) Organization promoting visual and performing arts. They run the Bankhead and the Bothwell Arts Center.  Used to be known as LVPAC - Livermore Performing Arts Center.

Livermore Commission for the Arts

Livermore city agency.

PAL - Pleasanton Art League

(This is also not us.) 501c(3) non-profit organization supporting visual artists and visual arts in Pleasanton. LAA and PAL have shared a lot over a number of decades, including our general meetings, newsletter (Portfolio) and annual member potluck. Newer folks tend to think we are the same organization. Nope.

ADAS - Alamo Danville Artist Society

Alamo Danville Art Society

PCAC - Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council

TVAST - Tri-Valley Art Studio Tour

Annual studio tour started in 2021 by AVA, in particular by Dennis Baker and Anne Giancola.

What's on at the Gallery

Jessica Copeman painting

Jessica Copeman, Featured Artist for April

The LAA Gallery in the Carnegie Bldg., 2155 3rd Street, Livermore is proudly showing the works of watercolors of Jessica Copeman for the month of April.

Jessica is a local Livermore artist whose work may be seen currently at the Bankhead Theater and at the Harrington Gallery in Pleasanton. Her paintings are refreshing and tell their own story when you view them.

Jessica began her love for art at an early age; she was fascinated with artwork and all kinds of artistic practices.

She went to art school at Cal State East Bay and then worked in corporate marketing until she decided to become a full-time artist. Her love of painting may be seen in her seascapes, animals, people and nature. Join us at the LAA Gallery, Carnegie Building to see Jessica's beautiful paintings.
