A Message from our Judge

Jane V. Farley, MFT

Art asks us to be courageous.

When we paint outdoors, we step into the unknown. The light changes, the wind shifts, and the scene evolves moment by moment. Plein air painting invites us to take a healthy creative risk—to slow down, observe deeply, and respond to a place as it unfolds.

Paint Livermore offers a wonderful setting for that exploration: vineyards, historic streets, open landscapes, and a vibrant community that celebrates creativity.

Whether you paint traditionally, abstractly, or in your own unique style, remember that art is not about perfection or judgment. Art is about experiencing the world and translating what you see and feel into paint.

Artists across centuries have shared this same impulse—to observe life closely and express it through their work.

Bring your curiosity.

Bring your courage.

And most of all, bring your willingness to explore.

I look forward to seeing your work.

Jane
