This exhibit is a collaboration between the Livermore Public Library and the Livermore Art Association. The theme is based on the book selected by Livermore community for the Livermore Reads Together program.
The book for 2026 Silver Lies by local author Ann Parker.
Light of the West celebrates the pioneering spirit and innovative force that have shaped the American West from the 1800s to the present. This exhibition invites artists to explore themes of discovery, resilience, mystery, and illumination—both literal and symbolic. From historic Western landscapes and stories to contemporary interpretations of scientific, cultural, and creative innovation, Light of the West honors the enduring glow of curiosity and progress across generations. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme broadly.
Traditional, contemporary, and experimental works are all welcome.

Zina grew up to love art and painting from a young age, painting next to her father, who was a well-recognized oil and watercolor artist, her father was her first art teacher. Being that art was such a big part of Zina’s life she obtained a B.A in Print Design from the Academy of Art, and later continued her education, earning a print certificate in graphic design. Zina has lived in the Tri-Valley for over 30 years and has been teaching with the City Of Pleasanton and The Town of Danville for over 10 years. Zina loves teaching art to all ages! She strives to create a wonderful experience for all of her students if they are a beginner or an experienced artist. Zina has enjoyed sketching, painting in watercolors and acrylics and has exhibited her work at the Pleasanton museum, the gallery at John Muir hospital, and Harrington gallery at the Firehouse art center and continues to exhibit her art.
