The freeness of watercolor has always intrigued me. My painting experiences have run the gamut from feeling the need to make a realistic representation, to starting the creative process by letting the paint flow dictate the subject, to a combination of structure and flow. My paintings are eclectic as far as style and subject. My favorite subjects are plants; other subjects include landscapes and historical buildings.
My art has been exhibited in Livermore Art Association and Pleasanton Art League shows and art circuits, with solo shows at Wente Winery, Valley Care, the Livermore Community Center, and the Livermore Library. Some of my paintings are in private collections in Redding, CA, Bremerton, WA, and Livermore, CA.
I’ve been commissioned to paint portraits of cats and dogs. I am also an author and illustrator. Recent projects I especially enjoyed were writing and illustrating three books for children: Randi’s Pesky Picnic and Angel the Beddy-bye Cat (both rhyming ABC stories), and The Counting Fair, a rhyming numbers story.
