THE ART OF IMPROVISATION
My art in some way represents a large exhale for me, because I've been waiting a long long time to
paint again. It also represents how I like to play with colors and shapes, which can influence moods and emotions, just like music. I like to project happy, friendly candy for your eyes. It's non-verbal communication.
The technique that I use to paint requires improvisation, and that's right up my alley. I don't use brushes
so I don't always know how a finished painting is going to look while I'm making it. Just like a jazz soloist doesn't know at the beginning of his solo what he's going to be playing five seconds later. I just go with the flow of the moment. I always paint with music playing to put MYSELF in a great mood. And Share it.
I DO paint with intent and direction, but there's still improvisation needed to complete the piece. I aim to paint something that catches your eye so you'll want to take it home to enjoy forever. Through my art I am able to share my wish for the world, which is PEACE.
