I take the “oh look a squirrel” approach to art, playing with whatever catches my fancy - I love to explore new ideas. Fabric and paper, thread and pens, are interchangeable. Stitch on paper. Draw and print on fabric. Thread and pen both create line. It is a matter of using what will best fit the idea in my head. I understand fabric and thread and love to use them in non-traditional ways.
I am inspired by the always innovative textile art scene. I love to see work combining wire and fabric and paint in unique ways. I like the lines achieved by mono-printing, the markings from printing, combining it all with dyes, inks, paint, and thread. There are no boundaries.
My work focuses on life’s ordinary stories, the moments that are common to all people. They are universal stories on which anyone can layer their own experience. I love to share what I do and introduce others to the incredible, versatile world of textile arts.
